Summary
Viture launched the Phantom Beast XR glasses on 30 October 2026 for 29 cable. The Phantom Beast is Viture’s second special edition pair of XR glasses. It is based on the Viture Beast, which the company released earlier in 2026, and it keeps the same optics and three degrees of freedom tracking as the standard model. The rest of the design is new. That includes a new colour scheme and metal decals on the temples, modelled on the Soul Blade from Phantom Blade Zero. The 9to5Google report, written by Nicholas Sutrich, was published on 30 October. What is in the case The carrying case is made of metal and leather and is styled as a scabbard, which 9to5Google described as a case that unsheaths. Viture designed the package to sit on a shelf as a collector’s item that can be displayed in a gaming room, with three game collectibles included with the glasses. The package includes the glasses, the metal carrying case, a detachable lanyard, four nose pads, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a prescription lens frame. The collectibles, which the report lists as exclusive to the package, are a replica of the Mó Sanguine Blade, a lens cloth and a sticker set. Screen specs and the PS5 cable According to 9to5Google, the glasses show a virtual screen equivalent to a 174-inch display, and the size and distance can be adjusted in the glasses. Resolution is 1200p per eye at a 120Hz refresh rate, with 1,250-nit peak brightness and nine levels of electrochromic dimming. HARMAN AudioEFX speakers are built into the temples. 9to5Google described the glasses as plug-and-play with any smartphone or computer that supports display output over USB-C. A PS5 needs more. The cable in the box is USB-C to USB-C, and the console connection needs the separate 599 price of the glasses. 9to5Google listed the cable as a separate purchase. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners need a different accessory, the Mobile Dock Mini, which is not included in the package. 9to5Google said Viture remains one of the only smart glasses makers whose products work with the two Nintendo consoles. The Mobile Dock Mini doubles as a 10,000mAh battery pack, which 9to5Google said extends the Switch’s battery life. Sources:
