Summary
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live on 6 November 2026 as a free content update with three new multiplayer maps, two new Warzone maps and a 100-tier Battle Pass, Activision said in a post on PlayStation.Blog on 28 October 2026. The Battle Pass is a paid item, and the catch-up rule applies only to players who buy it. Players who fall behind in the paid Battle Pass are automatically caught up to the reward matching the current day of the season, up to day 50. Activision said this guarantees at least 50 rewards for anyone who purchases the pass, which holds at least 100 unlockable items on a linear 100-tier track. Activision said the pass is also simpler to navigate: players log in to collect rewards and keep playing to unlock the track. Three multiplayer maps and two modes The three multiplayer maps at launch are Backstab, Canyon and a reimagined Shoot House. Backstab features abandoned tanks and bad weather, Canyon is set among rock walls with routes along a River and a Cliff Path, and Shoot House is remade against the terrain of North Korea during a snowfall. Grind and Drop Zone modes also arrive on 6 November 2026. In Grind, players eliminate opponents, recover their dog tags and take them to the Bank to score for their team. In Drop Zone, teams fight to hold a single rotating objective while Killstreak packages are airdropped over it at intervals. Mid-season adds two more maps, Ministry and Overflow, and a Counter Attack mode built around bombing the enemy Comm Station. DMZ, Warzone and weapons DMZ gets a weapons facility codenamed X01, which Activision describes as a formerly undiscovered site recently seized by enemy forces. Its maze of tunnels and shifting hazards calls for planning, specialised equipment and squad coordination, and the facility starts to close off extraction points, so squads must complete required steps to escape. X01 also brings multiple pages of new DMZ Orders, Threat Briefings against Commander bosses and Resupply Runs. Warzone gets two new maps, Hajin and Zodiac, along with additional game modes in the Season 1 update, and Activision said a full roadmap is still to come. Two new weapons arrive through the Battle Pass, and the season also adds new attachments. Activision says the Cronen Osprey assault rifle combines speed with moderate power, and that the CSG-35 SMG, built for close range, has the highest fire rate in its class. The Battle Pass track also includes Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints and Finishing Moves. Sources:
