The Windows 10 version of Microsoft’s OneNote will no longer be supported from October 2025, so users will need to upgrade the application to continue receiving updates, bug fixes, and security patches.
OneNote isn’t going away, but users will lose functionality unless they upgrade to the latest version.
The upgrade is free and easy to do, and the new version of OneNote has additional features such as the ribbon bar, enabling users to switch between a classic and simplified interface according to their needs.
It is also now possible to embed interactive elements and files, such as audio, video, spreadsheets, and Word documents, directly into notes, and these files will sync whenever any changes are made.
OneNote now also has built-in voice transcription, another useful new feature for users who prefer to record notes by speaking rather than typing them.
