You Can Finally Lend Digital Nintendo Switch Games

Nintendo has announced that from April 2025 it will be possible to lend digital Nintendo Switch games to other members of your Nintendo family group, comprising a maximum of 8 people.
The move brings back a degree of flexibility to Nintendo gaming, akin to physical games, but with the convenience of digital.
Family groups can be a combination of people in one household or from separate households.
As the lending period is limited to 14 days, games can be freely moved between members without restrictions, with game progress able to be picked up by the borrower or the lender at any time.
Some games will be excluded from the lending programme, such as Nintendo Switch online member exclusives.
The move coincides with the launch of the Switch’s new Virtual Game Card system, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
