Meta owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads, and they are well known for using user data for advertising purposes, which in turn generates billions of dollars in revenue.
If users aren’t ready to delete their accounts on these platforms, there are ways to limit the data that Meta has access to.
This can be done by logging on to your Facebook account and clicking on your profile picture, Settings & Privacy, and Settings.
From there, you can limit location services, stop getting targeted ads, and stop Meta from using your data to help advertisers on other apps.
You can also prevent logins to third-party apps that use Facebook credentials, but it’s important to note that this won’t stop Meta from collecting data.
This is just a way to limit how much Meta will be able to use your data, and restore a bit of control to the user.
