Use The New Chrome Split Tabs Feature for Better Multitasking
1 min read
Summary
The experimental Chrome Canary split tab feature allows users to view two tabs side by side in one window, eliminating the need to flip back and forth between tabs.
Currently, the feature is only available in Chrome Canary, but it is expected to become more widely available in the future.
To enable the split tab feature in Chrome Canary, the Target box in the Properties section needs to be edited by pasting —enable-features=SideBySide and then applying the changes.
Once the feature is enabled, you can split your screen by right-clicking and selecting “Show side by side”.
The split tab feature is best used for grouped tabs, and you can resize tabs by dragging the center divider.
This enables you to maximise your screen real estate and is perfect for multitasking and comparing documents.
