Social media platform Bluesky uses algorithms to determine and display content on a user’s feed, but also offers ways for users to customise what they see, including through marking posts with feedback, following more users and editing listed interests.
Users can also create lists of accounts they follow, which then generate their own feeds, and these can be pinned to the home screen alongside other feeds.
The platform’s “Explore” function provides suggestions for interests and new accounts to follow, tying these to existing follows and interactions, although some of the ties are weak.
In addition, users can turn off trending topics and topics in their Discover feed if they wish.
The level of customisation in Bluesky is making it as popular as Twitter, owners of the platform hope.
