One way is to get a one-month trial of Gemini Advanced free by signing up for a Google One AI Premium Plan, but users need to remember to cancel the plan before the month ends to avoid fees.
Another option for students or those with a valid .edu email address is to sign up before June 30, 2025, to get a free year of Gemini Advanced, which also comes with 2TB of free storage.
Buying a new Pixel device before November 2025 also scores a free year of the service, but only for those who purchase a Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro Fold2.
Users can also try limited versions of some Advanced features, such as using the 2.5 Flash and 2.5 Pro models, creating basic Gems, and accessing Deep Research, though the latter is ambiguous about specific limits.
