How to Add Copilot New Tab in Microsoft Edge Browser
1 min read
Summary
Microsoft has added its Copilot chat interface as the default experience for new tabs in its Edge browser, but the feature is disabled by default and requires manual activation from the Edge Flags page.
To enable the feature, users first need to download the Canary Channel from the official Edge website, agree and download the licence, and install the browser.
Edge users can then go to the Edge Flags page, where they should search for “NTP Composer” and change the setting to “Enabled with experimental features” before applying this to all related flags.
After enabling the flags and restarting the browser, Copilot will be set as the default experience for new tabs.
Copilot users can benefit from having the chat interface as the new tab page, giving them an additional way to open URLs directly and use natural language queries in the chat function.
However, those who do not want to use Copilot can easily remove it from their Microsoft experiences.
