After years of neglecting Android users, Apple has released its streaming service on the Google Play Store, with the app available for download on Android devices
The app can also be used to subscribe to and pay for Apple TV+ and Apple’s MLS Season Pass via Google Play billing
Android TV users will still be unable to receive alerts about new episodes and movies, with notifications only viewable on Android TV devices.
Apple’s decision to launch an Android app is believed to be an attempt to boost subscribers, with Android handsets making up 42% of mobile users in the US, and around 73% globally.
The iOS version of the app is functionally identical.
