If you’re using WhatsApp on a desktop computer, any exchanged files will be stored locally
On a Windows machine, access the files by navigating to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Packages\5319275A.WhatsAppDesktop_cv1g1gvanyjgm\LocalState\shared\transfers
On a Mac, open Finder and navigate to ~/Library/Containers/WhatsApp/Data/Library/Application Support/WhatsApp/Media
If using WhatsApp Web, any files or photos will be located in the Downloads folder of the browser being used, and can be downloaded by clicking the file or photo and selecting the download icon.
