Acer has announced a 10% price hike on its PCs, due to Donald Trump’s tariffs, and is looking to move its manufacturing to a country with lower production costs to avoid further costs related to potential future tariffs.
While Acer is the first PC maker to publicly announce price increases due to the tariff, other brands are expected to follow suit, depending on how protracted trade disputes develop.
Some brands have stockpiled devices to avoid the impact of any future tariffs, but these supplies will not last forever, and it is likely that prices could rise higher than the current 10% on Chinese imports, if a trade war develops.
Apple products could be affected as some of its components are still produced in China.
