Blocking of Signal links on Elon Musk’s Twitter/X began on 16 February, and appears to be designed to stop users sharing links to secure messaging app Signal, which is often used by whistleblowers and journalists communicating anonymously.

This latest move against Signal users appears to be another effort to trammel free speech and activism online.
The nugget of good news in all of this is that anyone wanting to reach out to a Signal user now apparently has to jump through several hoops, they haven’t stopped all contact being made outright.
