Summary
Qi2 is a faster and more efficient wireless charging system which supports magnetic accessories such as power banks, car mounts and multi-device charging stands, however very few android phones currently support it.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and the OnePlus 13 are labelled as “Qi2 ready” but this refers only to their support of faster wireless charging and not necessarily magnetic accessories.
To use magnetic accessories, a compatible case with built-in magnets or “Qi2 certification” is required.
If a phone does not support Qi2, magnetic stickers can be added to the back of the device to enable use of Qi2 accessories.
Qi2 was originally designed as a modified version of Apple’s MagSafe feature.
