Amazon Is Giving Alexa the Power of AI, but Are You Willing to Pay for It?

Amazon has introduced Alexa+, a new service that utilizes AI to make its home assistant smarter and give its smart speakers new abilities.
Alexa+ plans to integrate Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude via Amazon Bedrock, allowing the AI to better understand complex commands, pauses, and expressions.
The AI also recognizes and remembers the preferences of users and can connect to IoT appliances, apps and more.
The new feature will be available for Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21 devices and will cost $19.99 a month, however, Amazon Prime members can access the feature for free as part of their subscription.
The service will initially launch in the US, with a gradual rollout planned for the future.
Google is yet to respond to the update, but it’s worth noting that the company recently announced the integration of its own AI, Gemini, into some Google Nest models.
