This Browser-Based Attack Can Dodge Security Protections to Take Over Your Account

Summary
Clickjacking is an emerging form of cybercrime that tricks users into thinking they are clicking on something harmless, but in reality, an invisible layer is overlaying a dishonest action that the user is unknowingly making.
This action can provide hackers with access to personal accounts, devices and result in the downloading of malware.
One example, “likejacking”, deceives users into liking a social media post or page, which is achieved by sending an interesting video with a hidden like button that the user unknowingly clicks.
A more advanced version called “doublejacking”, exploits the timing of a user’s double clicks, bypassing many web browsers’ security defences.
To avoid this, it is recommended to update devices, keep browsers updated, be suspicious of double-click prompts, double-check URLs and use a website link checker before clicking.
