Summary
In a heartburn-inducing turnaround, tech journalist Kevin Gardens has declared that Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 is better than the company’s new Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds, which he had previously praised for their enhanced features compared to their predecessors.
His change of heart comes after Gardens experienced issues with the fit and comfort of the Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds, as well as their unreliable heart rate monitoring, limited app compatibility, inferior sound quality, and cumbersome carrying case.
He also missed the useful additional features of the AirPods Pro 2, such as adaptive audio, conversation awareness, and hearing protection.
Furthermore, the Powerbeats Pro 2 lacks MagSafe charging and is significantly heavier than the AirPods Pro 2, making them less comfortable for extended periods.
Lastly, the Powerbeats Pro 2 is also missing the Find My feature, making it harder to locate them if lost.
Despite being more expensive and having a bulkier design, Gardens concluded that the AirPods Pro 2 is the better overall product.
