Stop Using Camera Raw: Here's When It Actually Makes Sense
1 min read
Summary
Camera Raw is a Adobe proprietary imaging application that enables photographers to adjust images via sliders in a way similar to Adobe Lightroom.
It’s advantageous to use in conjunction with Photoshop as you can make adjustments to a raw image, then open up Photoshop to utilise the full suite of editing tools without needing to import the image or exit the programs.
It’s also beneficial if you forget to make an edit in Lightroom and want to go back and make small adjustments.
However, Camera Raw is not necessary for most photographers’ editing workflows and can sometimes actually be a hindrance as it can increase editing time without commensurate benefit.
