I Put My Cheap Phone Against My Mirrorless Camera: Can You Spot the Difference?
1 min read
Summary
A blogger has set himself the challenge of taking photos with both a Huawei P30 Lite smartphone and a Fuji X-T20 mirrorless camera, using the same shot and same lighting to see if a cheap phone can take photos as good as a dedicated camera.
With the X-T20 and the P30 Lite set to automatic and using the same focal length and angle, it was often hard to tell which photo had been taken by the phone and which by the camera.
This proved especially true when there was lots of natural light, with colours appearing richer in both depictions.
However, when the images were taken indoors with only artificial light to rely on, the blogger admitted the phone photos were pretty disappointing, coming out considerably darker with less discrete detail.
The blogger concludes that while smartphones are constantly improving, they still do not compare to a mirrorless or digital camera when it comes to taking the best shots.
