A new feature to Microsoft’s Windows operating system called Recall enables users to search through visual snapshots of everything they have done on their PC.
The feature captures snapshots on a regular basis and creates a timeline of all activity, including files opened, websites visited and interactions with apps.
This allows users to find specific information they may have viewed weeks earlier, by typing in a keyword that will bring up related snapshots.
Recall is currently in a preview phase and is only available to users of Microsoft’s Copilot service, but the company is working on rolling it out to all Windows users.
Privacy concerns have been raised as it essentially records all screen activity, but Microsoft says the analysis is done on the user’s device.
