Microsoft Is Discontinuing This App Because of Word and PowerPoint

Summary
Microsoft has announced it will no longer support Microsoft Publisher from October 2026.
This winding down of the program is due to the features of Publisher being incorporated into other Microsoft 365 apps, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
Publisher is a desktop publishing app and was originally aimed at creating branded templates, printing envelopes and labels, and producing custom business cards, calendars, and programs.
Users have over a year to convert their files to another format, such as PDF, to enable editing in Word, although this may result in formatting changes, particularly for documents with a lot of graphics.
For those who require the functionalities of Publisher, Adobe InDesign or the free alternative Canva, which offers similar features, could be an option.
Graphic design professionals and layout artists might opt for the industry-standard InDesign, while those who only need to occasionally lay out documents might choose Canva.
