Your Google Assistant Can No Longer Do These 7 Tasks

Summary
Google is retiring a number of features from its Google Assistant service, saying they are no longer useful to users and the company wants to “prioritise” the best aspects of the service to make it “more helpful”.
The changes include retiring certain Google Photos voice activation functions, interpreter mode live translation, and removing the Google Assistant from cars by disabling the service via Bluetooth or AUX plug connections.
Many of the functions that are being removed can still be performed within other Google apps or settings, and the company claims these changes will support the service’s future development.
However, the cuts also appear to follow a trend of streamlining Google Assistant ahead of the roll out of its replacement, Gemini, on mobile devices by the end of 2025.
Spotify Gemini extensions and other integrations have already started to appear as evidence of this trend.
