A report on Thursday revealed a trick for Android users to add a quick link to their Google search widget, which could provide quicker access to features like translation, sports results or the weather.
To do this, users need to ensure they have the Google app installed and update to version 16.3.34 or higher.
After updating, users can go to the Google app settings, select customise search widget and assign an action to a new shortcut button that will appear on the search widget on their home screen.
However, it notes that Google has only provided eight options for the shortcut, and the feature is of limited use for Pixel phone users since those devices already have a search widget on the home screen, which cannot be removed.
