How to Stop Apps From Running in the Background on Samsung
1 min read
Summary
Samsung phones have pre-installed apps that might run in the background, draining the phone’s battery and reducing its performance speed.
To stop this you can put these apps to sleep, which stops them running in the background.
You can do this automatically by going to Settings, Battery, Background Usage Limits and toggling on Put unused apps to sleep.
You can also do this manually by selecting Sleeping apps and then tapping the plus icon to select the apps you want to put to sleep.
You can choose Deep sleeping apps if you want the app to never run in the background, for example, if you never use an app such as AR Zone or Samsung Kids.
Bear in mind that if you put an app to deep sleep it might take longer to load the next time you open it.
