Samsung phone cameras can suffer from shutter lag, especially budget and mid-range models, which can result in blurry images and difficulty in shooting moving objects.
To mitigate this, try the following:
Ensure you have at least half of your phone’s memory free when you take photos, as the camera app is a very resource-intensive one.
Manually focus on your subject before taking a shot to prevent the camera guessing which subject to focus on and adjusting settings accordingly.
Reduce the image resolution as this reduces processing time, albeit at the expense of picture quality.
Use Pro Mode to manually adjust the shutter speed, but ensure that you adjust the ISO accordingly to avoid overly dark images.
Take burst shots by quickly pressing the shutter button multiple times in succession, which helps to capture fast-moving subjects.
Turn off or reduce features like Auto HDR, Scene Optimizer, and filters as these add workload to the image processing.
Consider downloading Samsung’s Camera Assistant module from Good Lock, which has a feature where it takes a photo the moment the shutter button is pressed, instead of releasing it.
