Vertical tabs don’t work well with multiple monitors, they can break the flow when bezel to bezel screens are used, and it’s tricky to group and organise them.
They can also end up wasting screen real estate, and some websites don’t work properly with them.
In contrast, horizontal tabs are easier to organise, move around and group together.
Whilst it’s a matter of personal preference, the author concludes that horizontal browser tabs are the more efficient and convenient option.
This is unless vertical tabs are implemented differently, which may improve their functionality.
