File searches on your computer can become quicker and more efficient by using the built-in filters within File Explorer on Windows.
You can enter search filters such as kind: to find a specific file type, datemodified: to search by date, and size: to find files within a size range.
For example, kind:image ext:png datemodified:last week will find all PNG images modified within the last week.
Search operators such as quotation marks for an exact phrase and a hyphen to exclude certain terms in the name can also refine your search results.
However, if you prefer an even simpler approach to quick file searches, there are also some great third-party tools such as Everything and Listary which create an index of all files and offer additional search capabilities.
