Summary
Microsoft has announced that advanced AI features on its Copilot+ PCs, running on Snapdragon X chips, will be expanded to include Intel and AMD chips.
The features, which include Live Captions, Voice Access, and Cocreator in Paint, will be available via the Windows Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) throughout April 2025, with some features available via a March update.
To receive the update, users will need a Microsoft account and an internet connection, and possibly a Microsoft 365 subscription, and will have to ensure their Microsoft Paint and Photos apps are updated to the latest versions.
Microsoft originally launched Copilot+ PCs in May 2024, powered by Snapdragon X Elite processors, and aimed to create the fastest and most intelligent Windows PCs to date.
The expansion of the AI features is part of a wider push to broaden the number of devices compatible with Windows on ARM.
