Amazon's Buy For Me Feature Will Do Your Shopping on Other Websites

Summary
Amazon is to launch a new service, titled “Buy For Me”, which enables users in the US to purchase products directly from the brand’s website, without having to leave the Amazon platform.
The service is currently in beta testing on Android and iPhones in the US, but customers will not be guaranteed access, even if they are residing in the US.
Amazon’s new feature uses AI, much like its chatbot Rufus, which has been designed to enhance the user experience and solve complex problems such as processing purchases.
However, the new service does not activate promo codes, the price displayed during checkout may not be the final price and refunds and returns will be handled by the brand rather than Amazon, hence increasing the risk of scams and hacking.
Furthermore, customers are left to question the benefits of the service when it does not incur any costs, other than potentially risking prices rising 10 dollars above the original, expected price.
It is believed that the only gain Amazon will achieve is that of user data and traffic.
