I Ceramic Coated My Phone and It's Solved These Key Smartphone Problems
1 min read
Summary
A ceramic coating on your smartphone can keep the screen free from greasy fingerprints and is more environmentally friendly than the traditional Perfluoroalkyl Substances (PFASs) coating.
Ceramic coatings are already used to protect surfaces from scratches and water adhesion, such as kitchen worktops and windows, as well as on sunglasses.
Testing by Justin Duino of MakeUseOf found that a ceramic coating, as well as making the screen resistant to dirt, made it more resistant to scratches, although the coating needs to be reapplied after about three weeks.
The report did point out that a coated screen does not remove the need for a screen protector and the coating can also be applied to the back glass and metal edges of the phone for all-round protection.
Duino also suggested that once you have used a ceramic coating, you will begin to think about what else you can treat.
