These Files Are Wasting Space on Your PC Without You Realizing

Summary
Files can often silently eat up gigabytes of space on a Windows PC, which can slow the machine down and clutter storage space, however, these files can be compressed to save space without having to be deleted.
Compressing files keeps them easy to access while also saving vital storage space.
Compressing files on a Windows PC can be easily achieved using two methods; NTFS file compression and creating a zip archive.
Right-clicking a file or folder enables the user to access properties, click the advanced button and then check the box that reads ‘compress contents to save disk space’.
Selecting a file or folder and choosing to send it to a compressed folder creates a zip file in the same location as the original files.
It is recommended to only compress large files that are not frequently accessed, such as old project folders, logs or spreadsheets, photo and video archives that are not being edited, installer packages that have already been run but are not wanted to be deleted, backups or exported data kept for safekeeping, and text-based files.
-Avoid compressing system files, important frequently accessed files, or active projects.
