Meta Wants You to Ditch CapCut and Use Its New Video Creation App

Summary
Instagram owner Meta has released a video editing app called Edits, which is available on iOS and Android devices worldwide and is completely free.
It allows users to create videos up to 10 minutes long, with a range of customisable features, such as fonts, video filters, stickers and sound effects.
The results can be shared on Instagram and other social media sites, with resolutions of up to 1080p.
Meta aims to compete with CapCut, a similar video editing platform, and draw TikTok and YouTube Shorts users looking for alternative ways to edit videos.
While CapCut exports videos with a watermark, Edits does not, which provides an advantage for users who do not want to pay the monthly subscription fee that CapCut requires to remove its watermark.
Further customisation features will be added by Meta in the future.
