Summary
Earlier this week Roku announced a series of new products and software features.
The two most notable hardware products were the new Roku Streaming Stick and Streaming Stick Plus, which are due to be released on 6 May.
The main difference between the two is that the Plus version offers 4K streaming, and they retail for 29.99and39.99 respectively.
Both devices are 35% smaller than competitors, and they can be powered directly from the TV’s HDMI port, doing away with a hanging power cord and preserving neighbouring HDMI ports.
In terms of software, Roku announced a “Coming Soon to Theaters” row, which informs users about upcoming premieres and lets them save releases to get notifications when they become available to stream.
There is also a personalised highlights row in the Sports Zone feature.
