From market analysis to academic research, this department offers many possibilities. Yet the typical text-focused design of these research reports can feel monotonous, and you may want to switch things up. It essentially means incorporating multimodal elements into your report. Here are five prompts I use to get beautiful reports with Claude’s Deep Research mode. The prompt that builds the actual interactive website One message turns the report into a page If you are bored by the plain-text reports that Claude delivers, you can ask Claude to convert the report into an interactive website. Trust me, someone is more likely to pay attention to the content of your report when you present everything in an interactive format. The prompt here ensures you get a Claude Artifact that you can easily share: Take the report above and rebuild it as a single interactive HTML page, not a written document. Give it a fixed top navigation with jump links to each section. Structure the top as a hero: the single most important stat, one sentence of takeaway, nothing else. Below that, one section per theme, each with its own anchor. Build it as a self-contained artifact I can open on its own, not as a plain-text reply. Turn the theme sections into tabs so I can click between them instead of scrolling through all of them at once. As you might understand, you have to run this prompt after Claude Research has created the text report. If you want a unique design, ask Claude to avoid common fonts like Arial or the familiar purple gradient on white. The prompt that turns data into charts Stats belong in tiles, not sentences This is one of the two prompts you can use to convert parts of the report into visual content and bring them back into the report. It is always better to represent data with charts than to make the reader wade through difficult sentences that may lose the essence in the process. You can use the following prompt to turn data from the report into charts: Go through this page and find every stat currently sitting inside a sentence. Pull the comparable ones into a bar or line chart using Recharts. Turn any stat that stands alone into a large number tile with a one-line label underneath, the way a dashboard shows a KPI. If a section compares more than two things side by side, put it in a table instead of a paragraph. This prompt asks Claude to use Recharts, but you can customize it if you know better libraries. I have used this prompt extensively for reports with multiple statistics, because it gives me an overview I can easily understand. The prompt that maps it like an Obsidian graph Every theme becomes a node you can drag An Obsidian graph is the interactive map the tool uses to show how your notes/elements connect. If you have a research report that discusses a variety of interconnected things, you can make it make sense using an Obsidian graph. You can have it as an artifact or an HTML file to be downloaded later using this prompt: Extract the key concepts, tools, and themes from this report and turn them into nodes for a force-directed graph, similar to Obsidian’s graph view. Connect nodes that get discussed together in the same section. Let me drag nodes around and click one to see a summary pulled from the report. Size each node by how central that concept is. As you can guess, this element is truly interactive and works with a wider variety of themes. I have used this extensively when creating literature review reports because it helps me understand how each text connects to the others. The prompt for a scroll-through slideshow One idea per screen, arrow keys to move You may not want a separate PPT from the report, but you can create a scroll-through slideshow that works in a web browser. Claude generally does a great job with slideshow presentations, but generating PPTs consumes a lot of tokens. With the following prompt, however, you get an HTML version of the said slideshow presentation. Rebuild this report as a full-screen slide deck inside a single HTML page. One idea per screen: a headline, one supporting stat or line, nothing else. Let me move between screens with the arrow keys or by scrolling, whichever feels less clunky. Use a full-bleed background color or gradient per screen that shifts with the theme, not a plain white slide. I rely on this prompt when an interactive page sounds like too much, but I still want some graphical elements on the page. Because it gives you an HTML page, you can download and use it offline. The prompt for a beautiful, no-slop PDF A version that doesn’t need a browser to open Converting a report to PDF isn’t new, but most of the time you get a PDF that looks like AI slop. That’s why I resort to a different prompt that gives me a beautiful, no-slop PDF document. To make it even more impressive, I also include a reference to a website or document I’ve come across before. Here’s the prompt: Turn this report into a polished PDF, not the default look. No generic-centered headers, no plain black-on-white body text, no bullet-only pages. Design it to look like [name a real reference you actually like, a specific magazine layout or report you’ve seen]. Use a real color palette, a cover page with the headline stat, a divider between sections, and pull-quote callouts for the most important lines. You can expand the prompt if you want a print-ready or web-based PDF document. In either case, you can always attach references so that the PDF is in sync with the other output you have from the report. Where these formats break down While these prompts are meant to help, they may not produce a perfect output right away. That means you’ll have to spend more time working on what each design demands. For instance, you may need more time to optimize how the elements on the page look for each slide, so you have to count that extra effort in the mix. Nevertheless, these prompts are definitely a good start, and you can build on them to create something better and more personalized.
