Summary
MIT president, Sally Kornbluth, has embarked on an international “presidential welcome tour,” speaking with MIT alumni in Washington, London, New York, Singapore and San Francisco to promote the institute’s mission.
Kornbluth highlighted the importance of communication about positive news at MIT, and the institute’s role in addressing serious contemporary issues.
MIT’s alumni community also had the opportunity to hear Kornbluth’s visionary plans for the future of the institute, and the part they can play to help tackle major challenges such as climate change and ethical AI.
The tour was also an opportunity for MIT’s global alumni community to connect and reengage with the institute’s values and vision.
Previous and present alumni association leaders also attended the tour, including R. Robert Wickham, SM’95, who felt the tour motivated alumni to continue to tackle global challenges.
