Summary
In a roadmap announcement from CEO Sam Altman, OpenAI is set to release GPT-5, the highly-anticipated follow-up to GPT-4, in around two months.
The new model will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor with the aim of making AI more accessible, alongside the announcement that the company is currently working on a way to more efficiently run these large language models (LLMs).
Additionally, the roadmap includes the release of a multilingual version of GPT, which can currently handle 25 languages, in July, with more languages to be added at a later stage.
The company is also working on improving its ChatGPT platform to make it more useful for things like code-writing, and working with collaborators.
Lastly, OpenAI is looking to release a version of GPT optimised for quantum computing.
