Summary
BBC Studios has launched a writing course featuring AI-generated lessons from Agatha Christie, focusing on how to craft the perfect crime novel.
The course is taught in the author’s own words and uses insights drawn from her work, and is available on the BBC Maestro online platform.
The AI likeness of Christie was created in collaboration with the Agatha Christie estate, using restored audio recordings, licensed images, and her own writing.
James Prichard, Christie’s great-grandson, said that the content had been “human-made”, and that the estate was “thrilled” to be part of the project.
The course includes 11 video lessons and 12 exercises focusing on plot structure and suspense.
