Meta and Spotify are teaming up to lobby against Apple and Google

Summary
New coalition the Coalition for a Competitive Mobile Experience has been formed to help promote and safeguard the interests of app makers with a particular focus on tackling the dominance of Google and Apple.
Founding members include Meta, Spotify, Garmin and Match, and their first order of business is to urge lawmakers to make age verification the responsibility of the app stores rather than the individual apps.
The coalition hopes to alleviate the burden on apps themselves and strengthen arguments for regulating the tech giants, building on efforts already undertaken by Meta to lobby on this issue.
The move comes just hours after a major court ruling went against Apple in its lawsuit with Epic, with the ruling meaning Apple can no longer control its 30% fee on all in-app purchases.
