European consumers mourning the loss of Google’s Chromecast streaming dongle may be interested in the new Thomson Cast 150, which has a similar design and offers plenty of streaming functionality.
The device runs on Google TV, supports Google’s video casting technology and offers support for 4K resolution, Dolby Atmos audio, and the HDR10 standard, with Netflix, Disney Plus, and other streaming apps pre-installed.
However, the device only has 8GB of storage and is only available in Europe, where it retails for €69 ($78).
UK launches are “eventually” expected, but there are no current plans for the device to be sold in the US.
This comes soon after Google increased prices for its TV Streamer set-top box in the UK.
