Roku is looking into complaints about washed-out HDR streams

Summary
Users of Roku devices have reported problems with HDR content looking washed out following a recent update to the company’s software.
Complaints have been made regarding TVs by manufacturers TCL and Hisense, as well as streaming apps Disney Plus, YouTube TV, Netflix, Apple TV Plus and Amazon Prime Video.
After asking users to provide more details about the problem, Roku admitted it was investigating the issue, which appears to have come from the recent software update.
Some users have reported that HDR content looks normal when played through other devices such as PS5 and 4K Blu-Ray players, suggesting the issue is limited to Roku streaming.
The problem only affects content viewed in HDR, and not standard definition, or the menu screens of streaming apps.
