Nvidia has announced that its RTX 5060 graphics card will be released on 19 May, alongside the first laptops that will incorporate the utilise the card, starting at $1,099.
The RTX 5060 is the most basic of the company’s new RTX 50-series cards, sporting 3,840 CUDA cores, GDDR7 memory and support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.
However, the card is limited to 8GB of VRAM, which is likely to result in a retail price higher than the suggested $299.
This is already a sore point, as retailers have been selling GPUs, including other RTX 50-series cards, at a premium, which is likely to continue post-Trump’s removal of the de minimus exemption, adding extra import taxes to shipments of graphics cards valued at or under $800.
