Following the 1.21.80 update to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, official support for virtual reality (VR) headsets has been removed as per Mojang’s previous announcement that it would cease such support after March 2025.
While the VR headset support is no longer officially available, users with the Java version of the game can use third-party mods such as Vivecraft, which works on most VR platforms, or QuestCraft, specific to Meta Quest headsets.
Mojang claimed last year that its ability to support VR and mixed reality devices had come to an end, justifying its decision to end support for the tech.
The removal of official VR support follows the end of Minecraft’s exclusivity agreement with Microsoft’s Xbox, signalling a move towards openness between the game and other platforms.
