Summary
The CEO of Sonos, Tom Conrad, has said that the company will be concentrating on its software following the termination of its partnership with Ikea in the creation of its Symfikisk brand.
Speaking to The Verge’s editor-at-large, Chris Ziegler, Conrad stated the company had recognised three key issues with the 2018 release of its updated app, which caused the company huge controversy among its user base.
Firstly, features that were due to be added post-release had been shipped with the initial release, Secondly, the company had known that some users would dislike the new design, and Thirdly, there were serious performance and reliability issues with the software.
However, since the disaster, Conrad claimed the company has now stemmed these issues, focusing on 11 key areas, including network solutions and improving the experience for olderSonos speakers.
On the topic of hardware, Conrad refused to be drawn but did say that the company was most excited about its upcoming output more than it had been for many years.
