Summary
Industry insider Mark Gurman has revealed Apple is planning a mostly glass, curved iPhone for its 20th anniversary in 2027.
This will feature no display cutouts and follow recent reports that Apple is working on a design with the front-facing camera underneath the screen.
Gurman also suggests this will be a significant year for Apple’s hardware line, with the foldable iPhone expected to ship and AI and personality features for its home robot and AI assistant.
It is also predicted that Apple’s smart glasses and camera-equipped AirPods and Apple Watches will be released, as well as its first AI chip for server-side AI processing and upgraded Siri.
This reflects Apple’s increasing focus on AI and robotics, with recent updates including the launch of its Personal Robotics API for developers and the acquisition of British AI start-up Firmcam.
