Summary
Videos posted on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) YouTube channel have been removed as part of the Trump administration’s paring back of the agency’s operations.
Among them was a termination of around 20 technologists, who were dismissed on Thursday evening, according to reports.
The CFPB YouTube channel had 15,000 subscribers and hosted over 300 instructional and informational videos on topics including debt repayment and credit scores.
The agency’s Facebook and X accounts have also been taken down, while its website’s homepage also returns a 404 error.
The CFPB has reportedly been ordered to maintain all records and data until a March 3 hearing.
