Sony considers PS5 price hikes to cover Trump’s tariffs

Summary
The CFO of Sony, Lin Tao, has told investors that the company is considering passing on the costs of incoming tariffs to consumers, although no specifics regarding certain products were mentioned.
Sony will also consider moving manufacturing of the PS5 to the US in order to avoid the tariffs altogether.
While the company did increase PS5 prices in some markets recently, it is possible that Sony could try to protect the console’s pricing through increases elsewhere in its electronics business.
Nintendo has so far kept Switch 2 pricing the same ahead of its summer launch, while Microsoft has raised its Xbox console prices by up to $100.
Sony is expected to reveal more about its pricing plans when it announces its new WH-1000XM6 headphones tomorrow.
