Sony has launched its latest premium wireless noise cancelling headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM6, three years after the launch of the WH-1000XM5 models, and the new headphones offer improved sound quality, noise cancellation and some design tweaks.
While the previous design overhaul between the WH-1000-XM4 and WH-1000XM5 was significant, Sony has focused on refining the sound, noise cancellation and usability rather than the aesthetics of the new headphones.
The WH-1000XM6 is also more expensive than its predecessor, at 449,and20 more than Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra headphones.
The new Sony cans do, however, offer improved active noise cancellation, a more comfortable band and the ability to charge during use, as well as a folding design for easier storage.
They also use Sony’s latest noise cancellation chip, which the company claims exceeds the noise-cancelling capabilities of its previous models and competitors.
