Summary
Google is updating its Chrome browser for Android, with an increased zoom function that helps readability on webpages without increasing the overall size of the page, thus keeping it navigable.
Chrome’s Optical Character Recognition function will also be updated so it will automatically recognise scanned PDFs on desktop, allowing text to be highlighted, copied and searched, with screen readers also enabled.
TalkBack, Google’s AI-driven screen reader for Android, can now interpret images better with the ability to ask follow-up questions about an image.
Finally, Google is launching Expressive Captions, which provides real-time captions for anything with sound across most apps, with an emphasis on interpreting how someone is saying something, not just what is being said.
