Apple blocks Fortnite’s App Store return as downloads fail in Europe

Summary
Fortnite has been removed from iOS devices worldwide, even in Europe where it had previously been available to download via the Epic Games Store and alternative marketplace AltStore PAL.
In a statement, Epic Games said that Apple has blocked its Fortnite submission, leaving the game offline “until Apple unblocks it”.
Fortnite returned to the iOS platform in the EU last year but not through Apple’s App Store.
The game was made available due to the EU’s Digital Markets Act, which required Apple to allow third-party app stores on iOS.
Epic had resubmitted Fortnite to the US App Store this month following a ruling in its lawsuit against Apple, which stipulated that the tech giant could no longer restrict developers linking to external payment systems.
The conflict dates back to 2020 when Apple terminated Epic’s US account for violating its rules on in-app payments.
