It’s time for Logitech to make a real Forever Mouse

Summary
The concept of a “forever mouse” that constantly requires updates was widely panned last year, but new thoughts on the matter suggest that Logitech should focus on making mice that simply last longer instead.
While Logitech’s wireless G502 Lightspeed mouse with a magic charging mouse pad may never need to be charged or have its battery replaced, the rubber grips start to degrade after a few years of use.
The company and its COO Prakash Arunkundrum have publicly said that it wants to make it easier for people to access original Logitech replacement parts, but the company still does not sell grips, buttons, shells, mouse wheels or microswitch assemblies, the parts that wear out the most quickly.
While Logitech declined an interview and iFixit also did not want to speak out of turn, both entities have said that they are looking to expand the selection of mouse parts, but only Logitech has responded to requests for the specific parts that are needed, which apparently have not been added to the Logitech Repair Hub on iFixit after several months.
The only option now for Logitech users would be to 3D print their own replacement grips or buy some grip tape from Amazon.
